Biography
Early life
David Goran Conrad was born on May 7th, 2356 in Tangier, Gibraltar on Earth to John, an officer in the Royal Navy, and Martha Conrad a school teacher from Sweden. He has an older brother, Jack, a younger sister, Abigail, and a nephew and niece, Michael and Beth. He has dual British-Swedish citizenship and speaks fluent Swedish.
He and his siblings were "military brats", due to their father's naval occupation, and they moved around a lot before relocating permanently to England when David was 16. Prior to this his family had lived in Gibraltar, Malta, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Germany, and they regularly spent the holidays in Sweden.
David gained his Masters degree from Durham University and his Ph.D from Lund University in Sweden. In 2379 he became a lecturer, and later chairman, of physics at Imperial College London, a position he held until 2380 when he was recruited to the Atlantis Expedition for their return to the Pegasus Galaxy.
