The Neural response device or coupler was a device created by Barbara Gordon. Barbara invented an electronic device that enabled her full mobility for limited periods of time. Barbara told Helena Kyle that it hurts like hell and that it could make her worse. Later Barbara improved the batteries, she also increased the sensitivity, with Barbara saying "It doesn't even hurt that much anymore."
