Certain teams have special duties within the Stargate Program. When Stargate Command was formed there were nine SG teams created and at present there are at least 25. The majority of the teams are Starfleet, with some Marines and civilians. A very few alien beings have also been allowed to join.

In 2389, an expedition was established on Colonia and listed below are the special designation teams noted thus far in that expedition and their known members. Like SG teams most members are Starfleet, along with Marines and civilian scientists. Colonia teams are often seen using Puddle Jumpers to explore planets as the Vennix galaxy has many spacegates.
